Being an apprentice

At Tesco, we welcome individuality and uniqueness. We always want our colleagues to feel they can be themselves at work and we’re committed to helping them be at their best. We’re building an inclusive workplace, a place to actively celebrate the cultures, personalities and preferences of our colleagues who share the same purpose, to serve our customers a little better every day, and you’ll have a vital part to play.

You’ll be encouraged to try new things, push yourself and learn from mistakes while you get hands-on experience of leading a team. You’ll also have paid, time out to study, so you can complete a Business Management degree apprenticeship. And, like all Tesco colleagues, you’ll have access to a wide variety of workshops and resources, online or delivered by a local Learning Partner, to help you develop skills like resilience and commercial awareness, as well as how to look after your wellbeing. And don’t worry, your colleagues will be there to support you throughout your apprenticeship.

What it’s like working here

What it’s like working here

Working in store is all about face-to-face interactions with our customers and leading a team. Serving millions of shoppers a week in our stores, it’s fast-paced with no two days being the same. The world of retail isn’t 9-5, so your role will involve some early starts, late finishes, night shifts and working weekends and bank holidays. Serving customers a little better every day is hard work, but very rewarding.
