Supply Chain - logistics lover

At Tesco we strive to give the customer what they want, when they want it. In Supply Chain we’re always working to understand our customers better, predicting what they need, and making sure we have stock in the right place at the right time to deliver a great shopping experience.

Environmental issues are really important to us too. We’re dedicated to striking the right balance between great availability for our customers versus waste and transportation costs and environmental impact.  It is something we look at every day, using our links with suppliers and charities to ensure no food is wasted.

Our challenging 10 week internship programme is a great way to get a good understanding and working knowledge of the end to end process between stores, distribution centres and the office. You’ll be involved at every touch point – from the moment a potato is dug from the ground to when it’s mashed for our shepherd’s pies and finally stacked on our shelves. You’ll gain exceptional knowledge on all aspects of the supply chain for the UK’s largest retailer, and we’ll give you responsibilities from day one.

You'll be working in the Transformation team

Our Supply Chain Transformation team aims to revolutionise the way we deliver for its customers. We work closely alongside the operational teams who manage our supply chain by solving day-to-day issues to ensure that our ideas deliver real world benefits that we can see for ourselves in our shops. Using business insight and data analytics we get to work on providing a whole range of solutions; everything from process improvement and strategy to new algorithm design and optimisation.

Our interns work on real projects

You’ll get to work on a key business opportunity from our transformation programmes, in the same way as our full-time analysts. With support from your colleagues in the wider team, you’ll have accountability for delivering project results. This gives you a great chance to make key decisions on the direction of the work, alongside building your confidence developing your communication and collaboration skills further. You'll also get the opportunity to present to our supply chain director.

Great culture

You'll get to work with a number of areas across the business in a collaborative way, from Technology to Commercial, Distribution and Logistics to Store Operations. We have a diverse team of analysts and project managers to work with and learn from, the friendly atmosphere here is a great place to just be yourself. We’re great at developing our people to be the best they can be and we've been fortunate that some of our previous interns wanted to come back to join us full-time after graduating
