Finance

Graduates play a critical role in our Finance teams which are embedded within every part of the Tesco group. The size and scope of our business ensures you’ll get wide-ranging and fascinating experiences across the three years of the programme, with the chance to even gain international experience in one of our global business units. You could be providing analysis to business leaders that inspires change in our stores, creating and landing financial plans and budgets for the year ahead or helping to write Tesco’s Annual Report.

During your programme we'll support you through your CIMA studies, with paid leave and the breadth of experience you’ll need for the practical requirements of the qualification. You’ll also be supported by your colleagues - a dedicated programme team, a mentor and one-on-one director sponsorship.

Whether it’s building the technical skills required, or the communication, analysis and insight capabilities essential for the finance professional of the future, this programme will ensure the best possible start to your finance career.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for individuals who are keen to learn and build new skills within our Finance team. You’ll need to be able to accurately and confidently apply the technical skills gained from your CIMA studies to help to solve business challenges, whilst being fully supported every step of the way.

CIMA

Successful completion of CIMA’s Professional Qualification will lead to the designation of Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). The qualification is recognised worldwide as the most relevant global finance qualification for a career in business.

Management Accounting combines accounting, finance and management with the business skills and techniques you’ll need to add real value. Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMAs) are qualified to work across businesses, not just in finance, advising managers on the financial implications of big decisions, formulating business strategy and monitoring risk.

Working at our Welwyn Garden City campus

Our leafy, green campus is 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Welwyn Garden City with its many shops, restaurants, pubs and sports facilities. Close to the A1, and with frequent trains running to Finsbury Park in just 20 minutes (free shuttle buses take you between the station and office), the campus is well connected to the surrounding area.

On campus, you'll find subsidised restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a Tesco Express to pick up your lunch or last-minute essentials. We also have our Heart Building, a place where colleagues can connect and come together, to unlock innovation and collaboration and a place where they can network and socialise. Plus we have an on-site Nuffield Health gym, which has state-of-the-art equipment, studios for classes, plus treatment rooms (membership costs £23.50 per month).
