Being an intern

At Tesco, we welcome diversity, individuality and uniqueness. We always want our colleagues to feel they can be themselves at work and we’re committed to helping them be at their best. We’re building an inclusive workplace, a place to actively celebrate the cultures, personalities and preferences of our colleagues who share the same purpose, to serve our customers, communities and planet a little better every day, and you’ll have a unique part to play.

You’ll be encouraged to try new things, push yourself and learn from mistakes while you get hands-on experience. You’ll have access to a wide variety of workshops and resources, online or at Heart, our on-site training academy, to help you develop skills like presenting with confidence and effective influencing, as well as looking after your wellbeing. As long as you’re curious, you’ll find it easy to build your network, as colleagues at every level are happy to answer your questions and share their career journey. And don’t worry, you’ll be supported throughout your 10-week internship by your manager and your buddy – they were in your shoes not so long ago!

Marjorie, our Business Diversity Intern -
“I worked on identifying the best way to measure gaps on shelves across all Tesco stores, so customers can buy what they need first time. I was trusted to deliver a vital project. It never failed to amaze me how real the impact of my work was. I learnt so many new things!”
