We have run successful early career programmes across our business for many years and are delighted to be expanding our offering with some new exciting early career programmes.

What to expect
What to expect
All of our early career programmes are focused on learning and development to support with your growth. From technical skills to helping you to better understand yourself and develop your leadership behaviours. You could spend time working in a different area of the business or go on a “Farm to Fork” or “Warehouse to Store” tour to understand the product journey in more detail.
We understand that the working environment means a lot. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere and recognise our colleagues who help people to be the best they can be through our Values Awards, our Fun@Work activities and colleague celebrations throughout the year. These really help set our culture apart and some of the reasons why we have been certified as a Great Place to Work for the fourth year in a row.
We know that arriving in a big organisation that employs around 13,000 people can be daunting so rest assured, you’ll have all the support you need throughout the programme. You’ll have close support from your line manager and you’ll regularly meet your “buddy”. Our graduates will also have a mentor who’ll be a senior leader from within the business. You’ll have a ready-made network to support you through the programme!

This is our chance to learn more about you and your background! The first thing you'll need to do is research our opportunities available to you and apply (remember, you are only able to apply for one programme). Before hitting the apply button please ensure that the device you are applying on has connection to the internet, microphone and webcam access. (You’ll need these later in the process).
Game Based Assessment
There will be 4 games to play, taking 15 minutes in total to complete. These fun games can be played on your phone, laptop or desktop and will help us to understand you a little better. You’ll learn about yourself too as you will receive feedback after you’ve completed them. The games contain a series of Games-based Psychometric Assessments, these will measure your cognitive skills, behavioural preferences, numerical and abstract reasoning abilities.
Video Interview Assessment
We’ll ask you to record your responses to a variety of questions mapping to our Tesco Leadership behaviours. Our video interviews are assessed by AI but all video interviews may also be subjected to human review. The AI algorithm has been designed and tested to be objective, and to focus on the things that are important to the job role you’ve applied to. It has been, and continues to be, tested for bias.
Discovery Centre
The final stage of our recruitment process is a Discovery Centre. The day has been designed for you to learn more about Tesco as a business. You’ll explore topics at the heart of everything we do throughout the exercises you will take part in. The day will consist of working in groups and individually, on a variety of topics that help you learn even more about the work we do. Prior to being invited we will help you to understand what to expect on the day.
