We're passionate about serving Ireland's shoppers a little better every day and our colleagues are at the heart of that. A business of our scale - 13,000 colleagues and 151 stores in Ireland and further operations in countries across Europe and Asia - provides a whole host of opportunities. No two days are the same here at Tesco and this, coupled with our fast-paced and vibrant culture, creates a very rewarding environment to work in we are really proud of. We are really proud that Tesco Ireland has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the second year in a row and recognised as one of Ireland's Best Workplaces. This recognition is a testament to our culture which is created by each and every one of our colleagues.

We run successful graduate programmes in our Head Office and in our Stores and we support our graduates to develop the career path that's right for them. Those who complete the programme can apply for a permanent role in either our Stores or Head Office - 100% of our graduates so far have secured permanent roles.

Both our Stores and Head Office programmes are eighteen months long and start off with a comprehensive induction including time spent in our stores and distribution centre. We like to help our graduates grow so we give them responsibility from day one. There’s lots of training and leadership development. Plus there's plenty more support on hand, like a mentor to help you along the way, and also a 'buddy' who's already been in your shoes.

Check out some of the information here to help you decide which programme suits you best.

The benefits

All of our graduates are invited to development and training events throughout their programmes to support them with their growth - from technical skills to helping you to better understand yourself and develop your leadership behaviours. Our Breadth of Business sessions will show you the many facets of our business. You could go on a “Farm to Fork” or “Warehouse to Store” tour to understand the product journey in more detail.

We understand that the working environment means a lot. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere and recognise our colleagues who help people to be the best they can be through our Values Awards, our Fun@Work activities and colleague celebrations throughout the year. These really help set our culture apart and some of the reasons why colleagues recommend Tesco as a Great Place to Work.

We know that arriving in a big organisation that employs around 13,000 people can be daunting so rest assured, you’ll have all the support you need throughout the programme. You’ll have weekly meetings with your line manager and you’ll regularly meet your graduate “buddy”. You’ll also have a mentor who’ll be a senior leader from within the business. You’ll have a ready-made network to support you through the programme!

At Tesco we offer a competitive salary for graduates which is €27,500. You’ll get 21 days holidays per year. You’ll also get discounts and offers with our partners through our Colleague Discounts scheme. You’ll receive 10% off your shopping in Tesco after twelve months.
