Serving millions of customers a week in our stores, our graduate roles aren’t just about having a passion for our products and motivating a large team to deliver complex tasks, it’s about making a difference, understanding what matters for our customers and inspiring all of our colleagues to serve our customers a little better every day.
It is fast paced with no two days being the same. It’s a chance to put your skills, experience and instincts to the test by exploring opportunities and finding better ways of working. In addition, you will be supporting and developing our colleagues and also acting as a role model for your team.
You will quickly take on responsibility developing towards a senior manager role in one of our large stores, before progressing to running your own Express store within 18 months. You will gain a great understanding within our business whether it’s working on a head office project or interacting with our distribution and fulfilment teams, this will give you a real breadth and depth of knowledge.
Within our store team you will need an energetic and enthusiastic attitude, not forgetting a passion for retail. We’re looking for somebody who can effectively communicate with customers and colleagues, loves a challenge, as well as being able to think on their feet. The real success in this role will come from working as part of a team and being great with people.
We kick off our graduate programmes with an induction where you will learn more about our business and your programme plus it’s a great opportunity for you to meet your cohort. You will then be introduced to your team where you will get to know more about the area you will be working in.
The time you will spend in store will help you to learn how our stores operate, how they link to your role and help you to understand our customers.
We encourage self-led development and we support this with a range of e-learning and face to face learning sessions. You will be able to use your own initiative to identify your own learning needs and choose the right training for you. You will also have the opportunity to learn from others to help you grow your skills.
