Stores - customers' best friend

With over 3,000 shops across the UK, large and small, it’s no surprise that our stores are the first thing you think of when it comes to Tesco.

Our store managers all share something in common: they want to serve our shoppers a little better every day. From great products, to brilliant customer service – we put our customers at the heart of everything we do, and stores are at the forefront of this.

On the stores’ graduate programme we’ll provide all the tools you need to become our customers' best friend. With the support of our programme and training teams, you’re leadership development will help you on your way. It’ll be fast paced, and the work you do will be tangible.

During the two years, you’ll work across all of our store formats – within 12 months you’ll be running your own shop. You’ll lead and inspire teams, manage promotions and products, and become a role model for great customer service.

If you want more than a 9-5 desk job, apply to be Tesco’s next ‘customers’ best friend’ today.

Working with the office

During the first year of your programme, you'll work closely with the office team to develop a business project, giving you a well-rounded experience of the Tesco business. This will be really helpful for your development in management in stores, as you'll have a good understanding of how the business as a whole works.

Training: Insights

As a graduate you will be supported through your programme with great training which will enable you to develop both your technical skills and leadership skills. Our Insights training course supports our apprentices to learn more about themselves and their style. These training days are done alongside fellow apprentices and graduates, so they're a great opportunity to network too!

In your second year, you'll be given your own convenience shop to manage. This is a perfect opportunity to put into practice everything you've learnt so far, before deciding if your career lies in the large or convenience format.
